About Smith Anglin

Steve is experienced in multiple areas of financial and tax planning for individuals and small businesses. He is responsible for the firm’s financial operations, strategic planning, tax preparation and compliance efforts.

Ronnie has been in public practice since receiving his CPA designation in 1977. He joined the Smith Anglin team in 2006 and delivers strategic tax advice to the firm’s clients.

Whitney provides tax services to a broad range of clients including publicly traded corporations, private equity backed partnerships, closely held companies and high net worth individuals. Prior to joining Smith Anglin, she worked in tax controversy for one of the largest oil and gas MLPs overseeing federal, state and local audits.

Tawny is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado and received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from there in 1984. Tawny started her business career in California working for smaller CPA firms where she gained a wealth of experience in several accounting areas before hanging out her own shingle in 1989. She maintained her own CPA practice in California until 2010 and then moved to Texas, where she moved her CPA license as well. Tawny joined the Smith Anglin team in 2022 and is a member in good standing with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Texas Society of CPAs. Tawny has a dog and a cat, and three grown sons who are the light of her life.

Landon has been a resident of Dallas, TX for most of his life. He had a brief stint in Waco, TX where he attended Baylor University and received his Bachelor of Accountancy in 2019. Following this, he pursued further academic achievement by obtaining a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2020. In 2023, Landon obtained his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. Before Landon began his career with Smith Anglin in 2023, he worked at a large public accounting firm, where he dealt with high-net worth individuals and their related trusts, partnerships, and corporations.

Tamara was born and raised in Abilene, Texas where she received her Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Hardin-Simmons University in 2002. She began her career in auditing and tax preparation with a small accounting firm in 2004. Tamara joined the tax and accounting team at Smith Anglin Financial in 2009. Being a mother and a wife, she enjoys sports and recreation with her family.

Joe was born and raised in St. Louis, MO, but left the Show Me State to attend the University of Mississippi, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy in 2021. He began his working career in Scottsdale, AZ as an auditor for a small firm that specializes in agriculture, but serves a variety of clients in several industries. Joe started his tenure at Smith Anglin in 2023, when he moved to Texas to be closer to friends and family. Outside of the office, Joe enjoys both playing and watching sports, being outside, and traveling.

Stephanie Wright is the Tax Administrative Associate for Smith Anglin and the frontline of support for our team of CPAs. Before Smith Anglin, she held administrative positions in a range of service sectors including a veterinarian clinic and a hospital and therefore has developed exceptional customer service and leadership skills. Through her extensive experience in project management and administrative services, Stephanie now ensures our clients receive the highest quality of assistance and care.

Outside of the office, Stephanie is the proud owner of a unique set of pets. Originally from Florida, she has spent most of her life in Texas where she lives with her spouse, Zak. They share a love for art, music, and travel—and of course their amazing pets!
